EVENT: AJET Welcome Camp!

What: A Party to Welcome all the New JET's to Gifu and Celebrate a New Year

Where: New Itadori Campland
Cost: Estimated 6,000yen (with bus) 5,000 yen (without bus)

This is one of the most anticipated events of the year. A chance to meet and celebrate with the new JET's before the school year begins!

We will spend the afternoon relaxing at the campground and playing in the waters of a cool mountain stream. Then, as the sun sets (and hopefully it gets a bit cooler) we will have an all you can eat and drink bbq. Once your belly is full of delicious food, you can talk, dance, swim, sleep, play games, or whatever else strikes your fancy (within reason, of course).

We have 16 bungalows rented at New Itadori Campland. Each bungalow can sleep 5 people, this means that the limit for this event is 80 people. (And that limit is FIRM) Make sure to get your RSVP's in early to make sure we have room for you!

Getting There - You can either ride the chartered bus or you can carpool with a friend, whichever is easiest for you (directions to the campland will follow in another email). The chartered bus will leave from JR Gifu Station on Saturday, August 23rd at 1:00pm SHARP! Please meet outside Vie de France at 12:30. There are only 55 spaces on the bus, so make sure to get your RSVP in quickly to be sure there is room for you!

Returning Home - There will NOT be a chartered bus on Sunday. The camp does have access to a bus stop with several options for getting back to Gifu Station (or you can catch a ride with a newfound friend). More details about the return trip will be provided in a future email.

Meals - Dinner (Saturday, 23rd) and Breakfast (Sunday, 24th) will be provided for you. Lunch on Saturday will not. Be sure to eat lunch before getting on the bus, or bring food with you. We don't want any starving campers!

Cost - Estimated 6,000 yen (with bus) and 5,000 yen (without bus). This is a great deal if you consider all that you are getting - a nights lodging, all you can eat and drink bbq, breakfast, time/space to play in a river. First-year JETs, payday is on the 21st, there is no excuse to skip out!!

What to Bring - Swimsuit, Sunscreen, Bug-spray, Change of Clothes, Sturdy Sandals (for playing in the river), Necessary Toiletries, Sleeping Stuff (FYI...The bungalows are rustic with wooden floors, blankets will be provided but futons will not. If you prefer a more plush sleeping environment it might be wise to bring something soft to sleep on.)

RSVP - The RSVP and cancellation deadline is Wednesday, August 20th. If you must cancel after that deadline, please find someone to replace you, otherwise you will still have to pay for this event.
