What is Gifu AJET?

Gifu AJET holds a variety of events and parties throughout the year so that the JETs of Gifu (and anyone else who wants to come!) can socialize and integrate, explore Gifu and Japanese culture, and just have fun.

How do I find out about Gifu AJET events?

The best way is through the GifuJETs Yahoo! Group. Simply join at: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/gifujets. AJET will post details for all events here first, and will keep you informed of upcoming events. (This group is also a general interest group for Gifu JETs for announcements, questions, etc. BE SURE to sign up! The JET community is your best resource for living, school, and entertainment in Japan!)

August AJET Events:

This is a reminder to mark your calendars for the following awesome events.


August 2nd (Sat) - Nagaragawa Fireworks
August 23rd and 24th (Sat/Sun) - Welcome Camp
August 30th (Sat) - Sakae Tour and Beer Garden

Sat, August 2 - Nagaragawa Fireworks

Meet at Vie de France at 4:00 to take the bus shortly thereafter. Following the fireworks, we'll walk back into Gifu where people can continue partying at bars.



Saturday-Sunday, August 23-24, Itadori Welcome Camp

Bus riders will depart from JR Gifu Station, car drivers can arrive at New Itadori Camp Land from 1. We'll relax by the stream and party all day. A BBQ dinner will be provided. The following day, guests can catch a bus back (one comes around midday), or carpool. (More details coming soon!)



Sat, August 30 - Sakae Tour & Beer Garden

Tour starts at 3pm from Nagoya station. Tour participants please meet at the golden clock by Takashimaya and the escalators (Sakura-dori side of Nagoya station). Beer Garden at 6:30 at the Chunichi Building in Sakae. 3500 yen. 50 reserved seats. Afterwards, feel free to continue partying at the numerous bars and clubs in the surrounding area.
