Hey, everybody!
It's time for Gifu AJET's annual cormorant fishing trip. Like in years past, we'll be renting a large boat and providing English explanantions of the event. Space is limited, so sign up soon!
Cormorant fishing on the Nagara River is a 1,300-year-old tradition where fishing masters use Japanese Cormorants to catch fish, primarily ayu (sweetfish). We'll be renting a boat and taking it out on the river. Before cormorant fishing starts, we can enjoy the sunset while eating dinner, drinking beer and shooting off fireworks. Once the sun sets, cormorant fishing will begin and we'll be able to get an up-close look at the age-old tradition.
