GYGA & AJET want YOU: Gifu World Festival, Dec

The Gifu Youth Gathering Association will be hosting it's annual "World Festival" Sunday December 9th.

It's an afternoon of music, games, speeches, dancing, and food to celebrate foreigners' interaction with Japan and Japan's interaction with the world. Hundreds of people will come to see and experience all that's offered.

AJET is partnering with the event this year and we hope you participate too!
We're hoping not only that many JETs (and any other foreigners who receive this!) will come for the event, but that many will also be involved with the event.
Your participation and help is yet another display of international exchange in Gifu.

We have a lot of material already lined up, but we're looking for more people to participate and help in a variety of ways to make the event even better.

**You don't have to be a professional artist or have expert experience organizing events. We're just looking for normal people, willing and able to contribute. **

The event will be held in a large hall in Ogaki.
One half will have a stage for performaces and speeches, and the other will be devoted to smaller booths for games, country introductions, food, etc.

We'd like you to help with:

1. Performance/Display

--Are you a performer? (taiko drummer, hip-hop dancer, martial artist, guitar player, etc) A 5min performance is plenty. Put that practice to use and show off a bit!

--Are you an artist? (paper dolls, photography, urushi, graphic design, pottery, etc) We'd love to display your work so many more can appreciate it.

2. Exchange

--Have you ever done a self-introduction? We want to represent as many countries as we can through a booth with pictures, items, and culture, and of course a citizen of each country. The more countries the better!

--Do you love playing with kids? We'd love your country's game ideas along with people to help run the games for the kids during the event

--Do you like to cook? We're looking for several easy and delicious international sweets/dishes/drinks to serve during the festival. We need someone who can make the recipe and/or show others how to.

3. Organization

--Do you have helping hands? We need volunteers for the day of the event to help with any of the setup, tear down, and helping run booths and such during the event. Any help at any time is appreciated.

--Do you have a helping mind? There's a public meeting the afternoon of the 18th

4. Outreach

--Got friends? Most people reading this are from English speaking countries. But there are MANY other foreigners living in Gifu. Please pass this email on, or just tell them about the event. We would like to represent the diveristy within Gifu.

5. Fun

--Are you a international wo/man of mystery? Come enjoy the Gifu World Festival Sunday December 9th! And bring your friends!
