AJET Autumn Excursion, This Sat 10th

First, thanks to everyone who came to the enkai.

This Saturday is the AJET Aumtumn Excursion.
Fall is the most beautiful season in Japan (I think that's closer to fact than opinion). And Gifu has some of the best Fall foliage in Japan.

So what better way to view the blazing colors of Fall than with them framing an ancient Buddhist temple, lining the banks of a deep water gorge, or surrounding a traditional mountain village? Come enjoy kouyou (fall foliage viewing) with the AJET Autumn Excursion this Saturday November 10th!
Kouyou is gorgeous and is an extremely popular fall activity. (We're sorry for the short notice, but we barely found a bus!)

First we'll go to Eihoji temple in Tajimi. It's famous for it's well-tended grounds (especially it's maples and a 600yr old ginkgo) and a beautiful arched bridge. Then after lunch, we'll have an hour long tour on a party boat in Ena gorge, famous for it's Spring and Fall trees, and many unusual rock formations. We'll finish at Magome, a traditional mountain village on the border between Gifu and Nagano.

WHAT: Autumn Excursion, Tono: Tajimi, Ena, Magome

WHEN: leave Gifu at 9:00. Return to Gifu by 8:30
And, pickup at Tajimi at 10:00. Drop off at Tajimi at 7:00.

WHERE: meet at Gifu station at 8:30 at Vie de France.Leave at 9:00 from Paruru Plaza. Stop at Tajimi station at 10:00

COST: 4500yen from Gifu / 3500yen from Tajimi
Includes all travel costs and fee for the gorge boat tour.

As for every AJET event, anyone and everyone is welcome!
Eat breakfast before you come.
Bring money for lunch.
We'll make a stop to pick up alcohol and snacks before the boat tour.
Don't forget your camera, walking shoes, and a jacket.

9:00 Depart
10:00 Tajimi JR Station pickup

12:00 Lunch (probably a grocery store to allow a good variety for so many people)
14:00 Ena Gorge
14:45 Boat Tour
16:30 Magome village
18:00 Return
19:00 Tajimi dropoff
20:00 Gifu return

***NOTE: Fri, November 9th, 12:00pm Noon is the deadline to cancel your RSVP.
We need exact numbers for the bus and boat.
If you need to cancel your RSVP after Fri noon, please find someone to replace you.
If you do not find a replacement, or are a no show/last minute cancellation/missed your train/whatever, you will still have to pay in full.***

P.S.- Mark your calendars for Sat Dec 8th for the annual AJET Bounenkai (year end party). We hope to have 70+ people again, a toast to JETs, former JETs, local Japanese, local friends, and anyone else we know!

P.P.S.- Also mark Sun Dec 9th for the Gifu World Festival, an afternoon of cultural exchange through dance, food, displays, games, and music.
