9月6日（日）に、史跡など見どころがたくさんの小さな町、八百津町のツアーを行います！
八百津町は、岐阜県中濃地域の南部に位置する素晴らしい町です。
宮本武蔵の訓練場（三層構造が特徴の五宝の滝）、杉原千畝の記念碑（偉大な外交官）、素晴らしい景色などがあります！
このツアーをかなりお勧めします。 この地域は、間違いなく隠れた名所です！
素晴らしい岐阜をもっとよく知る、またとないチャンスです！

Yaotsu Town Tour!
The events keep coming!
Does beautiful nature, light hiking, and rich history peak your interest?
Gifu AJET is proud to announce another great chance to see our beautiful prefecture.
On September 6th we will have a special tour of Yaotsu, a small town full of interesting and historical sites. Yaotsu is located in the southern half of Chuno, and is quite a great town! We will see such things as: Miyamoto Musashi fs training grounds (Goho falls, a water fall with three tiers!), monuments to Chiune Sugihara (a great humanitarian and hero), dramatic views, and more! I highly recommend this trip; too few people get to see this area. It is a wonderfull chance to check out more of our great Gifu.

of Sakae. It's packed with restaurants, import food stores, clubs and
music spots, and important stops like the Mac Store. You should know

Afterwards, feel free to take the opportunity to explore Nagoya's
nightlife with new friends. It is the closest big city to Gifu!

AJET Welcome Camp!

What: A Party to Welcome all the New JET's to Gifu!
When: August 22rd and 23rd
Where: New Itadori Campland
Cost: Estimated 5,000yen
This is one of the most anticipated events of the year. A chance to
meet and celebrate with the new JET's before the school year begins!
We will spend the afternoon relaxing at the campground and playing in
the waters of a cool mountain stream. Then, as the sun sets (and
hopefully it gets a bit cooler) we will have an all you can eat and
drink bbq. Once your belly is full of delicious food, feel free to
talk, dance, swim, sleep, play games, or whatever else strikes your
fancy (within reason, of course).
We have 8 bungalows rented up in New Itadori Camp. Each bungalow can
sleep 5 people; this means that the limit for this event is 40 people.
Make sure to get your RSVP's in early to make sure we have room for
you!
Getting There - You can get there by bus from Gifu station (Just under
2 hours and around 1000yen) or you can carpool. Directions to the
campsite will be given to drivers. The Japanese version is available

If you are driving please let us know if you have room in your car for
other people. We currently have 8 free parking spaces, so if you can
carpool we will give you a free parking space (up to 8 cars). The camp
is available from 1pm so feel free to come from then onwards.
Meals - Dinner (Saturday, 22nd) and Breakfast (Sunday, 23rd) will be
provided for you. Lunch on the Saturday will not. Be sure to eat lunch
or bring food with you. We don't want any starving campers!
Cost -Estimated 5000 yen This is a great deal if you consider all that
you are getting - a nights lodging, all you can eat and drink bbq,
breakfast, time/space to play in a river. First-year JETs, payday is
on the 21st, there is no excuse to skip out!!
What to Bring - Swimsuit, Sunscreen, Bug-spray, Change of Clothes,
Sturdy Sandals (for playing in the river), Necessary Toiletries,
Pillows ( We are hiring Futons but they don't include Pillows,
although if you would like to bring your own bedding then we can
arrange a 400yen discount for you )
RSVP - The RSVP and cancellation deadline is Wednesday, August 19th.
If you must cancel after that deadline, please find someone to replace
you, otherwise you will still have to pay for this event.

Gujo Odori and Fireworks!
Dear Gifuites
What a great weekend is coming up not only is the world famous Gujo Odori taking place but also the rescheduled Gifu Fireworks Display!
The Gujo Odori is coming up this Friday and Ajet is heading along! The Gujo Odori is a famous all night dance which takes place in the streets of Gujo. All of Gujo comes alive with a great festival atmosphere. 10 different traditional tunes are played in succession until dawn and each has its own dance. It really is an amazing and fun event so get your yukata on and come along.

When: August 14th (Friday) Meeting at Vie de France at 7:40pm, and will be arriving at Gujo at around 10.15pm
How much: Train tickets will come to around 3,600 yen from Gifu
RSVP: Not necessary (But for rough numbers would be appreciated)

After the washout with the fireworks the first time around, the event has been re scheduled to take place this coming Sunday . The set up is pretty much as before

・夏キャンプはカジュアルなパーティですので、夜まで友達と自由に楽しんでください。ロッジの隣には小さな川があり、涼んだり入ったりもできます。ロッジは広いので、話したりゲームをしたり好きなことをして遊んでください。パーティーの前に、加子母村周辺の観光もできます。
・内容生ビール、カクテル、ソフトドリンクは、到着次第飲み放題開始です。夕食は7時半からになります。おいしいパスタ食べ放題（ベジタリアン用あり）と、サラダとお菓子です。日曜の朝食は、シリアル、ジュース、果物等です。
・交通手段ロッジには駐車場が充分あります。もし車で来られるなら、ぜひ友達と乗り合わせてお越しください！ 一人や二人だけど車がない場合、その旨お知らせください。空きスペースがあるかもしれません。
・電車で来られる場合は、ＪＲ下呂駅に１５時３０分と１６時３０分に迎えに行きます。これらに間に合わない場合は、下呂駅から各自交通手段を確保してください。車での行き方は、後ほど連絡します。
下呂駅への到着時間は、

・ロッジ到着後、フロントデスクで会費をいただき、飲み物用のコップを渡します。名前を書いて、なくさないようにしてください！
・ロッジには、布団が６０セットしかありません。定員は８５人です。布団は早い者勝ちです。もし早く来られるとしても、できれば寝袋を持参してください。
・宿泊客は帰る前にロッジを掃除することになっています。全員で一斉にやれば、すぐおわります！ 掃除場所については、当番表を用意します。立つ鳥跡を濁さずです。
・畳部屋では、飲食禁止です。１階のキッチン、メインホール、もしくは外で飲食してください。畳部屋は就寝用です。既に就寝している人の邪魔にならないようにしてください。
・管内禁煙です。
・スピーカーを用意しますので、かけたい音楽があれば、iポッド等をお持ちください。
・シャワー用の洗面用具等をお持ちください。
・貴重品は各自で管理してください。いろいろな国籍の人がいますが、常識をあまりに逸脱した行為を行った人がいた場合は、AJETに連絡ください。

The 2009 Sayonara Party (Extravaganza-Hoopla) is coming up, and we need you there! Get ready for a night full of food, drinking, friends, and fun! 85 people is the max, so get on quick!
WHEN: Sat June 27th (16:00) to Sun June 28th (12:00, noon)
WHERE: Fureai no Yakata Kashimo, that big, beautiful, wonderful wooden lodge in Kashimo (ふれあいのやかた かしも）
COST: 4500yen
WHO: anyone and everyone are welcome! Invite your friends! (85 person cap)

THE PLAN:
The Sayonara Party is held at Fureai no Yakata Kashimo, the same lodge as the Winter Camp. It's a casual party to hang out with friends and just enjoy the evening. There's a small river beside the lodge you can splash and float in and plenty of room inside and outside to chat and play games. Just picture it: a scenic wooden lodge, which is surrounded by beautiful mountains and full of the coolest and sexiest people in Gifu! You could be one of those people!!!
FOOD & DRINK:
Nomihodai draft beer, cocktails, and soft drinks will be available on arrival. Supper will be served around 7:30. It's a pasta extravaganza! Also, salad and snacks. Sunday breakfast will be fruit, cereal, juices, etc.
TRANSPORTATION:
CAR
***We highly encourage you to drive and carpool.*** There's some free parking at the lodge. It's more fun and it saves money for everyone.
We will send directions out at a later time.
TRAIN
***We have limited space for pickups. The first RSVP requests get the first seats. We hope to recruit more drivers to help but we cannot guarantee more than ~12 seats for each pickup time.***
Pickup times are 15:30 and 16:30. If you do not secure a seat by RSVPing early or cannot make those times, you must find your own ride to the lodge or arrange your own pickup.
Train arrival times in Gero:
From the South - 15:15 and 16:24.
From Takayama - 15:22 and 16:19

IMPORTANT DETAILS:
We will collect your payment at the front desk when you arrive and issue you your cup. Please write your name on it bold and clear. YOU ONLY GET ONE CUP!! YOU CAN ONLY USE THAT CUP!! It is the only vessel that can bring the sweet nectar we will be serving to your lips…. It is your baby! Treat it as such.
The lodge has 60 full bed sets. The RSVP limit is 85. Thus the futons are first come, first served. Even if you expect to arrive early, if you are able, please bring a sleeping bag if you can to help someone out. Snuggling up with a friend is also encouraged to save futons.
All guests are expected to help clean the cabin before leaving. When every one pitches in, it makes for quite easy work, especially if we help in other areas after finishing our own. There will be cleaning rosters posted around the lodge. Also, keep in mind that our mess is our cleaning.
Drinks and food are NOT allowed in the tatami rooms. Keep it all to the first floor kitchen, main hall, and outside. Tatami rooms are for sleeping only, no games or chatting. And please respect those already sleeping when you finally stumble into bed.
Smoking is prohibited in all indoor areas.
There will be speakers for music. Bring your iPod/music player if you like.
Don't forget bathing supplies if you plan to shower.
Please don't break anything. But if it happens, please fess up to it. We've sadly had problems with this in the past and AJET has had to foot the bill...
Please be careful if there is rain forecast anywhere in the region. The river can flashflood.
Important: the lodge has a strict 22:00 lights/music/ noise curfew (lights out in main hall, curtains down in kitchen, and music off). We can of course enjoy ourselves all night but we must be respectful and keep things down. After 22:00 the villagers of Kashimo really don't like to be disturbed by merry-making. Every year, the town gets a few complaints. The winter camp is generally not a problem since the cold weather keeps us all inside. With the summer heat, it is much nicer to be outside or have the doors and windows open. Noise carries all too well along the river that makes Kashimo so picturesque. We do not want to scare any one away; we too love a good party. But we ask that you be especially conscious of the noise and keep it to a minimum. It would be a shame and a huge loss if Gifu AJET is no longer able to use the Yakata Fureai Kashimo.
Finally, while this is a gathering of friends please be responsible for your possessions and your behavior. Don't leave valuables out where they can be damaged or taken or spilled on, and please respect those around you with your behavior and language.

それでは、6月のAJETイベントのお知らせです！
-----６・１４（日）鵜飼-----
毎年恒例、1300年の歴史と伝統を誇る岐阜の長良川の鵜飼です！
船上から見る金華山と、ひんやりとした風で、かなり癒されますよ！
近くにいながら今まで言ったことがなかった人、仕事で疲れやストレスがたまってる人、
この機会にぜひ来てみてください！
船を一隻貸し切りますので、友達とまったりしたり、のんだり、別グループに人たちを気にせずはしゃいだりできます！
弁当、飲み物、おやつをお持ち下さい！
英語と日本語による鵜飼の説明も予定しています！
